Decades of experience
Hans Houben and Joachim Bayer founded Blend+ in2015. Till today, they have consistently followed their business idea of supplying – as an independent producer - customized specialty blends at affordable prices, employing latest technology and highly efficient production processes.
Another key element of our business strategy has been the focus on the development of customized blends in order to stand out clearly from the mass of companies offering contract mixing services. This strategy has proved highly successful to the present day.
Thanks to our ultra-modern machines and equipment, and our high-precision process control systems, we are one of very few producers able to supply blends of repeatable quality containing additives that are known to be difficult to handle, or process them into blends containing large quantities of additives with a low melting point, such as GMS or Erucamide for example.

We are proud to have a well balanced team of seasoned professionals and young talents. Thus we can transfer valuable knowledge to the young generation and get inspired by their new bright ideas. A good team spirit and openness have been keys to the success of our fast growing company.
Independent
We operate entirely independently of any additive producers or other suppliers. Our customers benefit from this in many ways: they can freely select the ingredients for their blends from any additive producers, they can provide the additives themselves or even commission Blend+ with the purchase of the raw materials.
Customers worldwide
Today Blend+ supplies its products to customers around the globe. In the plant in Düren, a traditional location of the chemical industry, 20 employees work in development, production and administration.

Before founding Blend+, Hans Houben had been Managing Director and Partner in other companies active in the additives business. He has amassed comprehensive know-how in all aspects of specialist blends production – from the perspective of sales, production and management.
Joachim Bayer
Co-Founder, Head of Sales & Technical Service

Joachim Bayer has more than 25 years of experience in international corporations in the fields of research and technological development, technical service, sales and business management . He played a key role in introducing additive blends in the plastics industry, and he has since established a comprehensive network within this market.
Michael Piepenhagen
Head of Development
Michael Piepenhagen has more than 20 years of experience in the development of additive blends for the plastics industry and in the development of the associated process technology. He is an expert in all aspects of up-scaling lab-scale production of newly developed blends to series production. Michael Piepenhagen is also in charge of process technology optimization and testing machines with new design feature in cooperation with the machine suppliers.
Jakob Esser
Head of Operations
Jakob Esser has longstanding experience as Head of Operations in the production and processing of additive blends. The optimization of production processes and continuous employee training are also part of his responsibilities.
